The Nissan lineup has always been known for its innovation. After the Nissan Kicks had gone a few years without significant updates, auto critics began to wonder if this signaled the end for the Kicks. However, there's excellent news for those looking for a Nissan Kicks for sale: this subcompact has just received some massive updates for 2025.

Nissan has debuted the second generation of its sneaker culture-inspired small SUV with a more powerful, sleekly sculpted, and somewhat larger version that leaves those same doubting experts speechless. While drivers often find themselves compromising on their automotive wishlists, the 2025 Kicks looks sharp, drives like a dream, and offers a cabin filled with comfort and convenience features. Add to that the peace of mind provided by the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance tools, and the 2025 Nissan Kicks proves itself to be the total package.

For drivers who are in the market for a smaller SUV that has plenty of pep, good looks, cabin comfort, top tech, and desirable features, take a look at the 2025 Nissan Kicks and all that it has to offer.

What's New for 2025?

The biggest news for 2025 is the addition of Intelligent All-Wheel Drive to the Nissan Kicks' potential configurations. For the first time, Nissan's all-wheel-drive system is optional on all trim grades and provides drivers with stability on a variety of unsteady and slick roadways. Those who select an all-wheel-drive model will gain a "Snow" driving mode that regulates braking, steering, and torque to provide stability where it's needed when slipping is detected.

The 2025 Nissan Kicks is also bigger than ever. Slightly taller, wider, and longer than the outgoing model year, the new Kicks improves front shoulder room by 1.7 inches, and those in the rear seats gain 1.5 more inches of shoulder room and nearly a full inch of knee room. This expansion translates into more cargo room as well.

With all seats occupied, the Kicks can stow up to 30 cu.ft. of cargo. With the rear seat folded, you'll enjoy a best-in-class 60 cu.ft. of space for all of the things to take along with you as you drive from one adventure to the next. Even better, the cargo load area is a class-leading 40.3 inches in width with a liftover height of under 28 inches, affording you easier access to the space, especially when carrying larger objects.

The 2025 Kicks literally rises above the competition with its new segment-leading 8.4-inch ground clearance, giving you the ability to maneuver more easily over uneven terrain. While it's not necessarily ready for off-road life, the new 2025 Kicks can navigate through areas where this nameplate has never been able to go before, thanks to its bigger size and optional all-wheel drivetrain.

Power and Handling

As mentioned at the top, the 2025 Nissan Kicks has gotten a bigger, more powerful engine. While the 2024 model sported a 1.6L engine that's good for 122 hp, the 2025 Kicks gets a big boost courtesy of a new 2.0L engine. With 141 hp and 140 lb-ft torque, drivers will notice and appreciate the extra zip for their daily commute.

The 2025 Nissan Kicks doesn't lose its efficiency with this power boost, either. Front-wheel-drive models provide an EPA-estimated 28 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. All-wheel-drive models lose very little of that economy, with these numbers dipping only slightly to 27 MPG and 34 MPG, respectively. And while all-wheel-drive models are equipped with the bonus "Snow" driving mode, all Nissan Kicks models include Normal, Eco, and Sport modes to allow drivers to fine-tune their cars' performance to their needs.

For those searching for a vehicle that offers a "just right" size and a zippy engine without costing too much to feed at the fuel pump, the 2025 Nissan Kicks is engineered to make many kinds of drivers happy.

The Kicks' Trim Lineup

Each driver has their unique wants, needs, and budget, which is why the 2025 Nissan Kicks is offered in three trim levels. Each trim includes the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance technology, which includes features such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, and automated high beams.

Those who choose the Kicks S and SV trims now receive standard Intelligent Cruise Control, while SR drivers add Nissan's ProPILOT Assist. Furthermore, Lane Departure Warning is standard on the S and SV trims; this system—now offered for the first time on Kicks—provides steering assistance for lane centering, taking the stress out of highway driving.

The top SR trim adds many other driver assistance features, including an Intelligent Around View Monitor that provides a 360-degree view around the Kicks. Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Lane Intervention, and Traffic Sign Recognition are just a few of the extra safety features offered on the SR trim. These tools provide drivers with more information on the road around them and some assistance in keeping safely centered in their lane when on busy highways.

While the S trim offers all of the essentials, including remote keyless entry, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and Bluetooth device connectivity, the SV and SR trims take convenience to a new level; this includes a cargo space divider system that allows you to create a two-level cargo area for all of your belongings, regardless of their shape or size.

The SV and SR trims are also equipped with a massive 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which unlocks features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a wireless device charging pad, and an intelligent key that unlocks your Kicks as you walk toward it and locks the doors when you walk away.

The top SR trim adds a variety of creature comforts, from 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels to leatherette seating material. A Premium Package is also available for drivers of the two higher trim levels who are looking for a bit more comfort and tech in their daily drive.

The exact contents of these packages differ depending on your trim level and choice of front- or all-wheel drive, but they both contain some delightful features that will add a sense of luxury to your daily commute. A panoramic moonroof, heated front seats and side mirrors, Nissan's remote engine start system, and a Bose Personal Plus audio system with driver and front passenger headrest speakers are all options that can be added to the 2025 Kicks.

Fun, Flashy, and Budget-Friendly

For drivers who like the height of an SUV but don't necessarily want a full-sized model, the 2025 Nissan Kicks keeps things in proportion to fit a lot of drivers' needs. Bigger than before, this subcompact offers just the right amount of passenger and cargo space. Furthermore, the Kicks manages to balance the right level of power with an admirable fuel economy, giving drivers the opportunity to explore more and drive further without a major impact on their budgets.

With multiple trim grades to choose from, there is a 2025 Nissan Kicks that's just right for all of your driving needs, with plenty of features to make you feel right at home behind the wheel every time.
